Happy Shapes

Year: 2021, Medium: non-woven fabric, iron wire, beads, clay pot, Size: [Flower] 35-55 cm high; [Pot] 17-22 cm wide

This set of 3D potted plants was inspired by a childhood drawing of mine (A Garden Scene), whose unrestrained lines and colorful hues attracted me. Drawing is the happiest thing for me. When I grew up, the world became more complex, with many decisions and concerns, no longer as simple as when I was a child. No matter how many difficult, sad, or stressful occurrences I face in my life, I still enjoy the simplicity of drawing to create a piece, temporarily finding refuge in the world within the picture.

If Time Could Stop

Year: 2021, Medium: Acrylic paint on wood panel, Size: 27 cm x 35 cm each

The inspiration for this piece came from my mother. She enjoys telling stories of my childhood. I understand that she was reluctant to see her children grow up, and she misses the old days, feeling the passage of time. I incorporate images of myself smiling brightly as a child amid blooming flowers. This image is alive to me; it is a moment frozen in time forever, most beautiful and innocent.
